Ghosting with Cake Soiree

Hello, welcome to the April Go for Greece Blog Hop which is a part of the Go For Greece demonstrator training group. A supportive and sharing community has built up and is led by Kylie Bertucci.
As part of the Go For Greece group are all working towards achieving the Stampin’ Up! annual trip this year, which is a trip to the Greek Isles for two people, wouldn’t that be just amazing!!!!!?

I'm working with one of my favourite suites today - sentimental as I did a presentation of the Sweet Soiree Suite at the Melbourne OnStage event in November, so very close to my heart as whilst doing a presentation in front of 100's of demonstrators was way out of my comfort zone, the "personal stretch" to do so was so rewarding.

My card today features the "ghosting technique", what's that you say? In a nut shell you create the illusion  of a  lighter shadow behind  a main colour focal point by stamping with white craft ink first and then with colour over the top, slightly offset.

I started by using Crumb Cake card stock and sponging the large flower from the Sweet Soiree Decorative masks with white craft ink - make sure your ink pad is nice and juicy so you get extra good coverage with your white ink stamping, one dry I used daubers to apply Rich Razzleberry, Berry Burst and Powder Pink to create an ombre effect. I repeated the process with the smaller flowers using the Cake Soiree stamps set and cut using the Sweet Cake Framelits. Lastly adding the sentiment from Flourishing Phrases.

Here is the full list of hop participants. Hop around and take a look at everyone’s projects, I'm sure you'll get loads of creative inspiration!

Whilst the Cake Soiree Stamp set and Sweet Cake Framelits are carrying over to the new Annual Cataloge, sadly the rest of the Suite including the Sweet Soiree Decorative Masks are retiring, so if you simply must have this set the time is NOW - only available while stocks last or til 31st May - you can also currently purchase the stamp set and framelits as a bundle and SAVE 10% til 31st May.

Around the Corner - not just for corners!

It's that time again, the "Enjoy the little things in life - Design Team Video Blog Hop" is here to help you to be more creative and give you some great ideas and tips.

This month you are in for a treat/sneak peak - we are going to be giving you inspiration with the stamp sets we won from Prize Patrol at Onstage earlier this month! I won the Around the Corner stamp set, it contains 18 photopolymer stamps, and today I am going to show you that there is more about this set than just cormers!

To change up the stamping I have used "masking" one of my favourite techniques, and I use it all the time..... and as I had a little "planning mishap" with my balloon stamping I have a tip in my video of what do do when you stamped images don't fit in your punch.

I'm pleasantly surprised with this CAS card, not my normal style, and I did have to stop myself stepping it up - told myself leave that for another card!

Anyway, here is my tutorial of creating this card, showing the masking technique I used, and that extra tip for punching stamped images when you have a "planning mishap", hehehe.

Sit back and take your time to hop all the way around our video hop, and if you have a chance please leave a comment, we love receiving comments! You are currently on my blog, Sue Vine - Miss Pinks Craft Spot, check  where to head to next in the list below. Thanks for hopping with us.

Happiest of Days #WWYS165

Welcome to What Will You Stamp? This week we are highlighting the Happiest of Days Stamp set. I adore the whimsical font, and hand drawn images in this set - it was one of the first items to go on my wish list in the Occasions Catalogue.

Happiest of Days by Stampin' Up!

I went with a "pink" combination today, Pink Pirouette with Copper, and the focal sentiment looks superb heat embossed! I lightly coloured the flower and gave the leaves a hint of colour before cutting with my most used framelits - the Stitched Shapes framelits.

Next I created my own background by stamping the floral image over and over, Pink Piroette on Pink Piroette - yeah, I just can't get enough of anything pink!

To carry the copper element through the card I wanted a fine layer, but alas not copper foil sheets, never fear - I cut a layer using the cardstock from the sentiment and Copper heat embossed the edge, waste not, want not as my mother would say.

I continued the delicate theme of the card by adding Vellum Oval Scalloped die cut under the sentiment, and finished by adding a bow with Copper Trim - this ribbon is amazing, you can basically move it into what ever shape you desire, fantastic for bows.

Here are some other cards I've made with this set.

Crazy Crafters Blog Hop | Special Guest Martha Groeger

Hello and welcome the the Crazy Crafters Blog Hop with special guest Martha Groeger from Germany. I will be eternally grateful to Martha as she is responsible for pushing me out of my comfort zone to create videos in the "Enjoy the Little Things in Life Design Team".

I was torn as to what to CASE from Martha's blog Cookies Craft & Co, partly because those foodie photos made me hungry and I had to go grab a snack, but I too love creating packaging, I finally decided on a card, inspired by this CAS design to again go out of my comfort zone.

As much as I love CAS cards, I struggle crating them - basically I don't know when to stop, and before I know it I have gone past CAS, and I think I may have done that again.....

I used the Colorful Seasons stamp set, and stared with the sentiment in the middle, and added flowers from the centre, diagonally towards the edge, before I knew it I had lots of flowers, probably it few to many for CAS... ooops!

So then I figured, just keep going, hahaha, I added the small dots using a stamp from Inspired Events, and then added Iridescent Sequins and a bow with Silver Metallic Thread, I love this little bow!

Why not grab a cuppa and continue all the way through today's blog hop, I'm sure you will grab some inspiration from the projects created, you're currently visiting Sue Vine - MissPinksCraftSpot, see the list below to continue on your hop:

I've featured 2 colours that have been announced on the list to retire, so if you need anything Perfect Plum or Pink Pirouette now is the time - only available while stocks last or til 31st May.
